Among all the wonders that can be visited in this city, two monuments are the most attractive for visitors: The Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba and the Alcazar of the Christian Monarchs.
The Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba
This is one of the oldest buildings of the time when the Muslim people ruled Al-Andalus and one of the most visited in Andalusia. This place was a place of worship to different gods; under the Visigothic people was a basilica that was shared by Muslims and Christians until the Muslim community grew up destroying it and converted into a mosque. The most important arear are the prayer room, the orange grove and the minaret. The Cathedral was built inside the Mosque in the time of Charles V another marvel of architecture that can be enjoyed inside the building. A few years ago the bell tower was openend, inside which the minaret is preserved, and it is possible to visit ii and enjoy incredible views of the city and the building itself.
Alkazar of the Christian kings
An architectural work enriched with Roman, Visigothic and Arabic remains, characteristics that make it a unique place and a must see. There are four towers (Los Leones, Homenaje, La inquisición and Las palomas) that stand out and behind which you can enjoy two patios and gardens, where you can enjoy exotics flowers and leafy trees. The Mudejas is the one that attracts the most attention for its beauty and the marble that predominates in it.
A large number of rooms that you can visit inside and enjoy all the pieces on display from different cultures. Among the rooms are the Hail of Mosaics and the baths (Arabic inspiration).
The Granadan opens the doors to a palace city created by palaces, gardens and a fortress, the Alhambra of Granada.
The Alhambra of Granada
It was built by the last dynasty of Muslims who were at the head of the government in Spain (1232-1492). The different areas that make up this city are linked by paths, gates and gardens, but with the possibility of cutting off the passage at the time of threat. It is another fortified palace that also has mixtures between its construction of different historical epochs. Its most important period in relation to its construction is the high Middle Aged (although remains from the Islamic and Visighotic periods are preserved), with a Mudejar, Gothic, Renaissance and Boroque mixture.
